Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to join our Accounting and Finance team. We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who is looking to gain experience and growth to work towards an Accounting Manager position. The Senior Accountant will assume a wide range of accounting and finance responsibilities for a fast growing company. Responsibilities range from managing the month-end close and annual audit processes to oversight of accounts payable and receivable functions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly close process including preparation of journal entries, preparation of general ledger account reconciliations, balance sheet account analysis and preparation of financial statements
- Reconcile intercompany accounts
- Annual 1099 processing
- Manage year-end audit and assist with special projects
- Ensure sales and use tax reports are filed and paid in a timely manner
- Manage invoicing and revenue recognition
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures
- Review actual monthly results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate
- Direct A/P function with attention to efficient expense reimbursement processing
- Lead interface with external auditors to ensure proper controls are in place and provide needed documentation as well as to mitigate risk
- Drive initiatives to improve processes for various operational accounting functions especially for A/P and for T&E and also for G/L and various accounting systems
- Varied special projects in reporting, ad hoc tasks, as well as on-going strategic initiatives
- Prepare VAT returns in foreign offices
- Cash management for US and foreign operations
- Bachelor’s required, MBA and/or CPA preferred
- 5-8 years of industry or public accounting experience
- In-depth knowledge of accounting policies, internal controls and processes
- Supervisory experiencing and interest in working closely with a dedicated team
- Proficiency with accounting applications and software
- Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy, be organized, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a hands-on, energetic self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of success with implementing best practices and process improvements within complex, centralized, multi-location organizations
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills for interacting with senior level management with building consensus around new process ideas, etc.
- Able to multitask in fast pace, engaged culture, where priorities can change rapidly
- International accounting experience
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Travel industry experience a plus
