StudentUniverse is a technology company that provides students with exclusive deals, specializing in travel throughout the world. We're a bunch of geeks and business people that run the most visited student deals site in the U.S. Our headquarters are in Waltham, right near Brandeis and we launched our service in 2000.

This position is on our Group Sales Team, working with college study abroad offices, volunteer organizations and student leaders, in planning and executing their travel plans. In this role you will foster new customer relationships and manage an existing clientele base.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage full desk of account of group air sales
  • Manage the group sales cycle from beginning to end
  • Proactively contact new and existing clients to grow our business
  • Responsible for reporting and tracking of all sales and payments in sales region
  • Handle group customer requests, regarding all StudentUniverse Groups services
  • Manage multiple methods of contact with clients or individual travelers including: inbound phone calls, email, instant messaging, etc.
  • Communicate direct with vendors/airlines to negotiate group pricing
  • Provide operational support to the rest of Group Sales Team

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Passion for travel
  • Sales experience
  • GDS/SABRE experience a plus
  • Background/Training in hotel, tours, or other non-air group sales
  • Ability to foster and maintain ongoing relationships with existing clients
  • Team player, that can be self-motivated, and achieve Group Sales team goals
  • Excellent customer service and customer management skills
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to change tasks quickly
  • Ability to stay focused in highly dynamic environment
  • Problem-solver; ability to think creatively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
