Key Account Manager

As a Key Account Manager – Airline Product, you will be responsible for supporting the strategic and operational development of the StudentUniverse airline product. This person will be responsible and accountable for managing multiple relationships with our airline partners. The perfect candidate has 5+ years of travel industry experience, numerous industry contacts, great familiarity with air product pricing and a track record of negotiations with airlines. You will be part of a small team at our headquarters in Waltham, MA.

    As a Key Account Manager – Airline Product, you will:
  • Plan and lead airline negotiations
  • Provide access to quantitative data for negotiations with airlines and other travel providers
  • Build and manage relationships with airline partners
  • Manage key accounts and contracts on a daily basis
  • Assist with the measurement of key performance indicators
  • Perform cost and performance analysis of past and future partners
  • Prepare reports of current effectiveness of sales efforts

    This position will also include additional responsibilities where you will:
  • Manage the quality and accuracy of our air product database
  • Work with other departments to ensure that terms and conditions of air products are presented accurately to customers
  • Assist in refining the company's partner development plan
  • Attend domestic/ international fairs/conferences

    Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and 3+ years experience in job offered or 5 years progressive experience in sales and account management positions
  • Travel industry experience required
  • Sabre experience preferred
  • Database experience (Microsoft SQL Server preferred) is preferred
  • Strong negotiating skills and ability to upsell products and services
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical and communicational skills
