Snap Gap Contest
Contest Recap
It all started off with identifying a problem — not enough American students and youth are having the kind of travel experiences (read: Gap Year, work abroad, international experiences) as their UK counterparts and others around the world. Once we identified the problem we decided to try to do something about it, and our “Snap Gap” contest was born.
The contest launched in March 2016. The idea was to send one College Senior on a 3 month “Snap Gap” (abbreviated Gap Year) trip after graduation. The student had to visit at least 6 countries and could build their own itinerary with flights up to $10k. Flypside and Homestay.com believed in the mission and joined us to make it possible.

We promoted the contest to 70k seniors and in the month the contest was open we had applications from all over the country. We picked a winner and made our announcement on May 12, 2016:
Denae was our winner….and just like that #DenaesSnapGap was born!
Denae explored five continents, 10 countries and 17 cities in three months, including:

Tokyo, Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Budapest, Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon, Copenhagen, New York and Washington DC.
Here’s Denae’s recap of the trip:
